Last week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York was a little weird to say the least. The show started off with the ladies meeting Julianne Wainstein at a closed down pizzeria so that they could create their own pizza pies together. It was clear from the beginning that there was a little something off with Jules that day, and it was obvious that she had probably taken a little to much of her pain medication.
While the ladies created pizza pies, Julianne Wainstein created a calzone…. filled with a fork, a knife, and measuring cup. If that isn’t weird enough Julianne Wainstein joked around with Carole Radziwill that she was contemplating putting her adoral or pain killers in the calzone to give it that wham factor. Previously on New York Julianne Wainstein had admitted to having an eating disorder in her earlier years, however after tonight’s episode it became clear that she has yet to overcome that eating disorder.
Carole Radziwill took to her Bravo TV blog earlier this week to discuss the scandal surrounding Julianne Wainstein. Carole opens up her blog by discussing that some of the comments she had seen on social media were disturbing. She reassures the audience that she isn’t skinny shaming but rather trying to share a message that having an eating disorder and being skinny are two separate things.
Carole explains that Jules’ had opened up to the ladies about her eating disorder in the past, and therefore didn’t think it was a problem to question Jules’ on her eating rituals. Carole also explains that until the pizza dinner, she was under the impression that Jules’ eating disorder was something of the past… however after the pizza dinner she felt like it clearly was something that Julianne Wainstein was still in the middle of.
Carole felt like Julianne Wainstein has always been open about her eating disorder to the ladies, and therefore didn’t think she was overstepping boundaries when she was asking Jules’ questions during the dinner. Carole asks Jules’ about her eating rituals and if separating her food on her plate was part of her recovery. Carole felt like Jules’ was trying to bring attention to her eating rituals in hopes of helping other with their own eating disorders.
However Carole’s mind clearly was changed when she learned that Julianne Wainstein brought a bottle of Percocet and adderall to the dinner. And to top it all off Jules was also drinking while on these medications. While Jules is telling Carole that she has nothing to talk about with her therapists she is at the same time putting silverware into her calzone! Carole felt like Jules’ did this so that she didn’t have to eat in front of the ladies… or rather at all.
Carole felt these actions to be alarming and a bit weird. Carole explains that it was actually uncomfortable for her to watch Jules’ drugged out ways during the Pizza Dinner. Radziwill is clearly concerned for Jules however her sympathy quickly went away after seeing that Jules’ turned the attention away from herself and towards Carole Radziwill. Carole is clearly hurt by both Dorinda Medley and Julianne Wainstein bad mouthing her in the next scene and questions the ladies motives.
