Shania Twain Releases ”Life’s About to Get Good”—Her First Single in 5 Years

It’s been 15 years since Shania Twain released an album, and now the long wait is finally coming to an end…

The 51-year-old country singer announced she’ll be releasing her next album, Now, in September. Along with it, she dropped her first single in five years.

The song, “Life’s About to Get Good,” is an upbeat, uplifting tune with a lesson about the roller coaster we call life.

Twain previously opened up about how the song was motivated by the emotions she felt during her divorce from her former husband Mutt Lange—who she split from in 2010—and moving forward afterward.

“I wasn’t just broken, I was shattered/ I trusted you so much, you’re all that mattered/ You no longer loved me, and I sang like a sad bird/ I couldn’t move on and I think you were flattered,” she sings in the first verse.

“Oh, life’s about joy, life’s about pain/ It’s all about forgiving and the will to walk away,” the chorus continues. “I’m ready to be loved and love the way I should/ Life’s about, life’s about to get good.”

Meanwhile, Now will mark her first album since 2002’s Up! and will be available Sept. 29.

She’s discussed the challenges that came with doing an album without the help of her ex-husband who was also a producer.

“It was a big leap of courage for me,” Twain told Billboard in December. “I didn’t know where to begin. I’d write every type of song, every type of lyric, every type of melody. Who is going to say, ‘All right, let’s hone in on this style?’ I didn’t have that direction, whereas with Mutt I did.”

But that didn’t stop her.

At the end of recording the album, she said, “I felt like I had climbed a huge mountain and was standing on top of it, looking God in the eye, and saying, ‘I’m here! What do I gotta do next?'”

As for the general feel of the album, she promises it’s not going to be dedicated to breakup anthems.

“I talk a lot more about pain,” Twain explained, “But I didn’t feel the need to be that literal about anger or hate.”

She continued, “It’s very triumphant in the end. I felt like, ‘Whew! I made it through the album! I made it through writing all the songs!’ It was an emotional roller coaster, and the lyrics reflect that.”

U.S. Office of Government Ethics: Trump Owes $315 Million in Liabilities to Lenders

A late Friday document dump by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics revealed that President Donald Trump owes at least $315 million in personal liabilities to several U.S. and foreign lenders, according to a federal financial disclosure.

The 98-page disclosure shows that Trump has at least $130 million in liabilities to the German lender Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas as well as $110 million to Ladder Capital, a commercial real estate lender in the U.S.

The disclosure also shows that Trump reported an income of $594 million in 2016 and had $1.4 billion in assets as of early 2017. And before becoming president, he held officer positions in 565 corporations and entities, many of which had ended before he was sworn in on Jan. 20.

The White House issued a statement, saying, “President Trump welcomed the opportunity to voluntarily file his personal financial disclosure form,” which was “certified by the Office of Government Ethics pursuant to its normal procedures.”

Wil Anderson arrested after plane incident while on way to Wagga Wagga

COMEDIAN Wil Anderson has spoken out after he blasted Qantas in a deleted tweet over being arrested for allegedly being disruptive on a plane to Wagga Wagga.

Anderson was arrested on the tarmac at Wagga Wagga Airport in New South Wales after he was on a Qantas flight from Sydney.

The 43-year-old host of The Gruen Transfer, who was on his way to perform in Wagga tonight, was taken to the police station for questioning after officers met the flight.

News Corp understands Anderson was allegedly disruptive soon after boarding the Q400 Dash-8 aircraft and refused to follow basic crew orders.

There was no suggestion he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

After he was arrested, Anderson tweeted: “Big f**k you to the crew at Qantas for their no help today. Sorry Wagga if I can’t walk when I get off the plane today.”

While Anderson had tweeted the comment, it has since been deleted from his official Twitter account.

A statement from Qantas said “to ensure all of our flights are comfortable and safe for passengers, we do not tolerate disruptive behaviour on board”.

Anderson has since been released by police, and his ‘Critically Wil’ show at the Civic Centre in Wagga Wagga went ahead.

Carrie Fisher died from sleep apnea, other factors, coroner says

LOS ANGELES — Carrie Fisher died from sleep apnea and a combination of other factors, but investigators haven’t been able to pinpoint an exact cause, coroner’s officials said Friday.

Among the factors that contributed to Fisher’s death was buildup of fatty tissue in the walls of her arteries, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said in a news release late Friday. The release states that the Star Wars actress showed signs of having taken multiple drugs, but investigators could not determine whether they contributed to her death in December.

The agency did not immediately respond to a request for additional details about whether a full autopsy report and toxicology results were available.

Fisher, 60, suffered a medical emergency on an international flight on Dec. 23. Her mother, longtime movie star Debbie Reynolds, died the following day.

Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, said he was not surprised by the results. He added that his family did not want a coroner’s investigation of his sister’s death. “We’re not enlightened. There’s nothing about this that is enlightening,” he said.

“I would tell you, from my perspective that there’s certainly no news that Carrie did drugs,” Todd Fisher said. He noted that his sister wrote about her drug use frequently, and that many of the drugs she took were prescribed by doctors to try to treat her mental health conditions.

Fisher long battled drug addiction and mental illness. She said she smoked pot at 13, used LSD by 21 and was diagnosed as bipolar at 24. She was treated with electroshock therapy and medication.

“I am not shocked that part of her health was affected by drugs,” Todd Fisher said.

Chelsea Handler Just Gave Ivanka Trump The BEST Advice For Dealing With Daddy

The many people who expected Ivanka Trump to be a mitigating influence on her father have been sorely disappointed.

Count Chelsea Handler among those who never bought into the concept of the First Daughter as a kinder, gentler Trump, and now that Ivanka’s own cruel tendencies have been put on display for all to see, she has some choice advice for the first daughter.

Without spoiling the bit, let’s just say that Handler also has a father who can be a bit of a challenge to deal with, and we’d all be a lot better off if Ivanka treated the president how Chelsea treats her dad.

If Steve Bannon is watching, this may even stand a chance of becoming official White House policy.

Teresa Giudice Opens Up About The Loss Of Her Mom

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice lost her mom Antonia Gorga, 66, earlier this year in March. When Teresa appeared on Brandi Glanville’s Unfiltered podcast this week, she opened up about the loss of her mother.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice lost her mom Antonia Gorga, 66, earlier this year in March. When Teresa appeared on Brandi Glanville’s Unfiltered podcast this week, she opened up about the loss of her mother.

“I miss her so much, and it’s just the hardest thing. Life’s good, and life sucks. I needed my mom still. She was 66,” Teresa said. “She was too young.”

Teresa mentioned how terrible it was for Vicki Gunvalson to lose her mother two seasons ago while the cameras were rolling on The Real Housewives of Orange County.  “I remember seeing Vicki going through that. Like, when she lost her mom, and y’know, I was just like, ‘Oh my God that must’ve been so hard for her to go through that,’” Teresa said. “And then, never in nine years did I ever, could imagine that I would be going through that.”

Teresa shared that her mom had battled pneumonia and rheumatoid arthritis before her passing. “It attacks your immune system. She ended up going to rehab after that and trying to gain strength because she was in bed for a while. She was on a breathing tube. They trached her. But then she got better. They were trying to get her to walk again,” she recalled. “Then out of nowhere, my father got sick. He got pneumonia because he was visiting her every day. If I could take anything, I wish this never happened to me. Like everything else that’s happened to me, I don’t even care. This is the hardest thing that I ever had to deal with in my life, because never… It’s like I still needed my mom. Like, we all need our mom, you know?”

Teresa revealed that her father is doing better and is now living with her and her four daughters. And she has this message for everyone out there. “Don’t take your parents for granted. Always spend time with them, because you never know what’s gonna happen. And I have no regrets with my mom, because I was always with her, but still, it’s like I could’ve been hanging out with her now,” she said. “And it’s like, and this is, like, when it had to happen.”

Miley Cyrus Reveals the Surprising Reason Why She Quit Smoking Weed

Puff, puff pass — no more! Former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus opened up to late-night host Jimmy Fallon about the surprising reasons she decided to give up smoking marijuana.

“I stopped smoking because, to sit here and to talk about what I’m doing, I wanted to be really clear,” she told Fallon. “Because I’m actually the most passionate about what I’m doing with this record than I’ve been — I say this every time — but I loved making this record so, so much. This record, for me, at this moment, is the most important album that I’ve ever made. So I wanted to make sure I’m super clear about the way I’m talking.”

The reformed wild child, who’s engaged to Hollywood hunk Liam Hemsworth, suffered bad dreams leading up to her bold decision.

“I kept having this nightmare, it was seriously horrible. I wonder if you’ve had this — not about this show,” she clarified. “I had this dream that I would die during my monologue on SNL for some reason. That I would just get so stoned that I just died, which I Googled, and that’s never happened. Thank God … I was smoking a lot of weed. No one’s ever died from weed, but no one has ever smoked as much as I did. So, it’s like, they don’t really know. So I was thinking if I want to sit on this couch and tell people what I think about my new music, I wanted to sound as smart as I think that I could be. And I really just want to sit at home and eat when I’m stoned.”

Cyrus made headlines when she announced in May that she was no longer going to smoke weed. In a May 3 interview with Billboard Magazine, the Wrecking Ball songstress revealed her efforts to remain clean and sober.

“I f–king hate it when people can’t adjust. I used to [resist changing]. But I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do,” she said.

The former Disney star acknowledged several other self-imposed lifestyle adjustments to Billboard.

“I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open,” she explained. “And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

Cyrus has released two singles, “Malibu” and “Inspired,” off her untitled album who’s release date has yet to be announced.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.

Bill Cosby’s Sexual Assault Case Ends in a Mistrial After Jury Deadlocks

Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault case ended in a mistrial on Saturday, June 17, after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict on any of the three counts of aggravated indecent assault with which the actor had been charged.

Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault case ended in a mistrial on Saturday, June 17, after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict on any of the three counts of aggravated indecent assault with which the actor had been charged.

The jury of seven men and five women reviewed the case for more than 50 hours over a six-day period. Earlier in the week, they told the judge that they were deadlocked, but he ordered them to continue deliberating. On Saturday morning, all jurors agreed that there was “hopeless deadlock that cannot be resolved on further deliberations,” BuzzFeed News reported.

Cosby’s attorney Brian McMonagle immediately moved for a mistrial, which was granted by the judge. CNN reported that prosecutors announced that they plan to retry the case.

The Cosby Show alum, 79, walked out of court a free man and was spared from what could have been a 30-year prison sentence. He was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

Cosby, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, did not take the stand during the weeklong trial, though excerpts from his 2005 and 2006 depositions about his relationship with Constand were read aloud.
