Shocking Allegation! Luann de Lesseps Claims that She was Groped by Mega – Mogul Russell Simmons! – The Real Housewives
In the ‘me too’ movement it seems that more and more shocking allegations are coming out of the woodwork and now RHONYs Luann de Lesseps has her own story.
During a conversation with The Daily Beast Lu opened up about feeling ‘invaded’ by music mogul Russell Simmons, who is also facing multiple rape allegations from other women.
On the alleged encounter, Lu shared:
“He grabbed my ass in an elevator, he was just a pig. I haven’t told anybody about that before. I was grossed out. I was like ‘How dare you.’ He invaded me, he took advantage of me, being who he is, thinking he is all ‘it,’ all everything. He thought he could just do that. I looked at him and said, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’” The alleged incident occurred “around three summers ago” in Miami.
Yikes! Things haven’t been looking good for Russell Simmons and having Luann speak out against him isn’t exactly going to help his case. There have been multiple rumors and allegations of the former Phat Farm/music mogul so unfortunately this doesn’t surprise me too much.
When the reporter inquired if Mr. Simmons ever apologized Lu stated “No. Of course he didn’t apologize.”
Simmons’ spokesperson did not address the allegations brought on by Luann directly; however did reissue a previous statement that was given to Rolling Stone “vehemently denying” accusations made against him:
“They have shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women. I am blessed to have shared extraordinary relationships, whether through work or love, with many great women and I have enormous respect for the women’s movement worldwide and their struggle for respect, dignity, equality and power.”
Unfortunately, Lu said this type of behavior was all too familiar as she claims she has had to “deal with it my whole life.” In her younger years as a model Lu states that she endured “inappropriate behavior from ‘male photographers and clients.’ You learn to swallow it, to grin and bear it somehow.”
Luann describes the #metoo movement as “amazing” as women have been dealing with this their entire life; however have learned to keep quiet about it.
I agree that the #metoo movement is long overdue and feel it’s time to put a stop to this type of behavior and prevent it from being swept under the rug any furhter.
