Attitude era wasn't as good as people think it was. Yes the main event was often great, but there was barely a women's division, the storylines that weren't to do with the main event stars were often garbage and the title changes were too frequent. I mean, look at the wrestlemanias during the attitude era. The main events were often good, maybe even great, but the shows as a whole weren't great (X-seven, being the exception). Back then, it was cool to be edgy. Now if you try to be edgy, most just get turned off by it

They do need to put raw back down to 2 hours it really would make it more exciting by cramming in madness for a full 2 hours rather than dragging out the same 'madness' for a whole extra hour lol

You mean TV-14? The Attitude Era was a Golden Age of creativity in the Professional Wrestling Business. Sure not all the angles were gems but we ended up having some of the greatest moments from that time that will never be matched. WWE will never have a Bigger Mainstream Boom Period unless they drop PG which is not only stifling creative but the talent too from what I've seen

Isn't WWE already PG13? They openly support sodomy on RAW,etc. That's PG13 if not R.

Nonsense. Family Guy has been a massive success, and so has American Dad. PG-13 will be fine.

God damn this overly smarky attitude is so fucking cringy. “WWE is way better now than it has been in the past 20 years.” “PG is actually better, the adult content is unnecessary.” “Attitude era is shit.” Yeah there have been bland shitty moments in the attitude era but how the fuck can you sit there and say today’s era is way better? Why do you think WWE was way more mainstream back in the day, and they were hitting ratings in the 7-8 millions? There’s people in the world that still call WWE the WWF because it was so mainstream that way, and people will always know who Stone Cold or The Rock is because they were actually entertaining and weren’t given a shitty ass paper to read off of before a promo. Give me a break. There’s a reason people recognize the rock more and call him the rock more than Dwayne Johnson, and that nobody outside of the wrestling world has a single clue who the hell Finn Balor is.

    April 16, 2018 at 12:49 pm

I wish one of their shows could be tv-14 and the other would be PG. I think it would be variety to wrestling, and bring back the hardcore title. If a new network brings the end of 3 hour raw that’s a lot to be happy about.

  24. Arrive2Conquer

    April 16, 2018 at 12:54 pm

These guys are such fucking dorks. We have such dull shitty wrestlers that all wrestle the same but as long as they are good in the ring and are doing flippy dippy skippy shit and are 5’10” and weigh 180 lbs then it doesn’t matter. We might as well just not even have promos or entrances or championships or commentary or even fucking wrestler names. Just a full show with nothing but wrestling with random generic people wearing a generic plain black wrestling outfit and a bunch of dipshits chanting this is awesome and throwing around a fucking beach ball. The product would be way better than the attitude era right?

  26. mrextreme316

    April 16, 2018 at 12:59 pm

The 3 hour Raw uses about 1/3 of their time showing recaps of what happened earlier. Cut it to 2 hours, stop showing recaps, and if someone missed it, they missed it, and maybe next week they watch the whole thing, and that is how you get ratings…

  27. dazzaburger

    April 16, 2018 at 1:19 pm

Going back to PG-13 is whats best for the fans imo but staying as a kid friendly product is what’s best for business.

  28. jason newstead

    April 16, 2018 at 1:32 pm

True, it won’t go back. But it should. Think of the world we live in.
The Attitude Era was all about creating bad taste, “oh shit moments” every week. Today’s fast paced, un-PC, sensationalist, scandalous, Internet Era is the Attitude Era on a societal level. We’re clamouring for it. Want proof? Brock Lesnar – We aren’t supposed to be cheering the heel, but we are. Roman Reigns – We aren’t supposed to be booing the baby face, but we are. WE WANT THE ANTIHERO!
You go back to TV14, you’ll bring back the casual wrestling fan.

I just want brutal match stipulations such as when edge speared Jeff hardy off holding the title hanging. Things like this could save wwe.

So if PG sucks why is it NXT is so good? I think the problem with WWE isn't it's lower age rating but the fact the those running it seem to have no clue what they are doing.

  36. iPleatheTV

    April 16, 2018 at 3:44 pm

So wrestling fans are low class but they can spend $4000 on a front row seat. Chyeahhh okay try again….

The only thing i'd want to change is less scripted promos. So that real heart goes into em. I Personally agree that nowadays, attitude era is… Weird and kinda shit.

  38. Keith Piper

    April 16, 2018 at 4:08 pm

It isn't being PG that is the problem, a lack of stories and characters is why I don't watch wwe TV any more.

  44. Don Cassedy

    April 16, 2018 at 5:27 pm

I disagree, Simon. I find SmackDown dull. The two hour window severely limits the number of wrestlers you can get on TV on any given week, so you’re often stuck seeing the same thing and the same small handful of wrestlers over and over again until the PPV blow off.

This is precisely why I prefer Raw’s three hours to SmackDown’s two hours.

  45. Julian Ramirez

Let's be honest, there is no such thing as a good wrestling story line. It doesn't matter what era it's from. I will say though, that this PG era is nothing but regurgitation. It uses the same " story lines" over and over again. Along with the same matches 2 to 4 matches, on 50 straight shows. This PG era can't make a true star, it's biggest draw is the last hold over from the attitude era ( Brock Lesnar), and it's not even close. From the attitude era came, Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Edge, Eddie Guerrero ( all time greatest in ring performer IMHO), and Brock Lesnar. The PG era gave us, what? Ryback, The Shield ( none of them can draw ratings), Daniel Bryan came close once, but they kept getting in his way. CM Punk was right there, again, they got in his way. The wrestlers that had a chance to be stars, they wouldn't push ( i e Dolph Ziggler). Instead they give the title to Dean Ambrose, and Kevin Owens. They destroyed Bray Wyatt, who could have been big. Now they are slapping the women's division in the face, by having a pay per view in a country that won't let them wrestle. The attitude era would have given that country a Stone Cold Steve Austin salute.
