BUSTED: Reporters Catch Huckabee Sanders In Another Lie About Trump Tower Meeting (VIDEO)
On Monday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refused to answer questions about her previous claim in which she said that Donald Trump did not dictate a statement about the Trump Tower meeting during the 2016 campaign. Then it was revealed that Trump’s legal team’s leaked letter which was published yesterday directly contradicts Sanders’ claim. Sanders, of course, refused to answer the questions but reporters grilled her anyway.
“This is a letter from the outside counsel and I would direct your question to them,” she told reporters.
Josh Dawsey of the Washington Post told Sanders that it’s hard to know what to believe anymore.
“If you say one thing from the podium, that it wasn’t dictated by the president, as long as you are saying something entirely different and contradicting, how are we supposed to know what to believe?” he asked. “How can we believe what you’re saying from the podium if his lawyers are saying it’s entirely inaccurate.”
Even though Sanders referred Dawsey to Trump’s outside attorneys, he pressed on.
“You literally said, ‘He did not dictate.’ The lawyers say he did,” he said. “What is it?”
“I’m not going to respond to the letter from the president’s outside counsel,” Sanders stated. “I would refer you to them for comment.”
During a press briefing back in August, Sanders said that Trump may have given suggestions on the Trump tower statement “as any father would,” but she denied that he dictated it.
To make the story even more complicated, Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s newest attorney, said on Sunday that Jay Sekulow, one of the former reality show star’s other attorneys, was “uninformed” when he denied that Trump had anything to do with crafting the statement last summer.
And now we find out through the leaked letter from Trump’s legal team that he did dictate the letter and either Donald Trump, his son, one of his lawyers, or all of them, and/or Sarah Huckabee Sanders is lying.
