Drew McIntyre explains the importance of facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania
Drew McIntyre appeared on WJLA’s Good Morning Washington show to promote Monday’s episode of Raw. During the interview, he talked about a wide range of topics including facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35.
McIntyre took his departure from the WWE in 2014 after being put with the 3MB gimmick with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater as an opportunity in order to reinvent himself on the independent scene to the point where WWE had to bring him back.
Now, he’s slated to face one of the top stars in the company at WrestleMania. For McIntyre, he sees this as a show of faith by WWE officials.
“It’s wild,” Drew said. “You know, I’ve been back on Raw for 10 months now and I’m fighting Roman Reigns, the #1 guy, returning from his illness in his first big singles match at WrestleMania. It’s pretty incredible. It’s a great opportunity and a show of faith by the company, in my ability now. I’m very, very excited to give the world a performance they won’t forget.”
WWE will hold WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium and be broadcasted on their streaming service, WWE Network.
