Media Confronts Huckabee About Lies, She Blames Media

Bravely, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders placed herself in front of the media again in the White House Daily Briefing, and it did not take long for the press assembled to demand to know why they ought to take her or the White House seriously when it comes to honest answers.

the Washington Post‘s Josh Dawsey asked her about her false statements about the Trump Tower meeting between Don Jr. and Russians. She dodged the question, doing a typical “Sarah,” assurring the press corps: “I’m an honest person, who works extremely hard to provide you with accurate information.”

Bull shit, said everyone gathered …under their breath.

Andrew Feinberg, next hit Sanders with a difficult but fair question calling out both President Donald Trump and the White House’s dishonesty.

Feinberg began his question’s premise by listing false claims Trump has made on his Twitter account, which set off Sarah’s “Discomfort Meter” and she admonished Feinberg: “it’s a question, sorry Andrew, if you could get there.”

Left with nowhere else to go, Feinberg let her have it: “Why if things you keep saying from the podium turn out to not be true, and things the president keeps saying in a number of venues say turn out to not be true, why we should we be able to trust that the information we’re getting from this administration is accurate?”

“And more importantly, why should Americans be able to trust that what they hear from this White House is always the truth?”

Whoa. Finally. The only question the White House press corps need ask until satisfactorily answered. What could Huckabee-Sanders possibly say in reply?

She did as the Trump administration always does, when confronted with direct evidence of their lies, misdeeds, whatever, she blamed someone else, this time, the media itself, in an answer that I find shockingly condescending, and thus infuriating:

Once again, I don’t know how many times I have to address this, but I work every single day to give you accurate and up-to-date information,” Sanders replied. “And I’m going to continue to do that.”

“Frankly, I think my credibility is probably higher than the media’s,” she continued.

“In large part, that’s because you guys spend more of your time focused on attacking the president instead of reporting the news,” Sanders said. “If you spent a little more time reporting the news instead of trying to tear me down, you might actually see we’re working hard trying to provide you good information and trying to provide the same good information to the American people.”

Just when you believe that the administration has lost all ability to shock and surprise, they come up with something like this. Feinberg listed off proven lies, and the response was ….

I don’t have words right now. Perhaps you do. Please leave comments, your disgust, anger, it’s all appropriate, and needed.
