Avicii, International Popstar, Dead at 28
Avicii, DJ Producer and international pop star, is dead at the young age of 28.
Earlier today the music industry was sent shock waves as it was revealed that one of the most successful and famous EDM star’s Avicii had died at only 28 years of age.
Avicii was a Grammy-nominated electric dance DJ who sold out more venues than an other EDM DJ to date. “Wake Me Up,” one of Avicii’s most successful songs was a multi-platinum success that peaked at number four on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
His death comes just days after being nominated for a 2018 Billboard Music award for his dance/electric EP “Avicii (01).”
In 2016, Avicii retired from making music, largely in part to a drug in fueled lifestyle that he had grown accustomed to on the EDM circuit.
Avicii would battle his demons, and soon over come them during his time away from the industry (mostly a drinking problem.)
Last year Avicci posted a message on his website announcing his return to the music industry. “The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new.”
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” a statement from Avicii’s rep to Life and Fame earlier today reads.
“He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
