While Denying One Crime, Trump Admits to Another Felony, On Camera
In the very first interview Trump gave following the Cohen plea in Federal Court, implicating Trump in felony election law violations, Trump argued that he spent his own money to hush up the women with whom he’d had his sport-sex romps, and thereby admitted to yet another felony.
According to Obama White House ethics lawyer Norm Eisen, Trump has “gone out of the frying pan and into the fire” in his rambling interview on Fox this morning.
“The president, in his usual clumsy way, has stumbled into another federal crime because he signed his federal financial disclosures under false statements penalty,” Obama’s former ethics czar said.
“If you owe somebody money — he just said ‘I knew about the payments,’ he repaid Michael Cohen — he had to list that on the forms,” Eisen continued. “He omitted it.”
“President Trump just stumbled right into that second federal offense,” he said. “It may not be the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning.”
Now, I have never had to deal with the issue, but I would have presumed that it is difficult to lawfully pay-off porn stars six figures to not talk about all that hot sex you didn’t have. I would think it is difficult even when you are not running for president. But, those darn election laws – that all candidates do have to navigate, and do it successfully, for the most part – apparently make it near impossible to silently pay people hush money, at least legally.
I wish someone would pay me six figures to not talk about the sex we didn’t have, because there are many many many porn stars that I have not had sex with and I could easily fulfill all necessary pre-conditions to such a payment.
